Pumping Station breaks down, no water
The Public Works Department cannot confirm by when water supply will be normalized in parts of Samabula, Lami, Delainavesi and nearby areas as their Waimanu Pumping station has broken down due to power failure this morning.

Water Supply Department confirms low water level at Tamavua reservoir is also causing water disruption in many areas.

Officials say unless electricity is normalized at Waimanu Pumping station water supply will not be normalized. According to PWD about six trucks are carting water in affected areas.

Meanwhile, FEA has confirmed that due to a broken power line along Princess Road the power supply to Waimanu Pumping station has been affected. FEA engineers are working on the powerline however no timeframe has been given by when power supply will be normalised.

This morning residents of Davuilevu and nearby areas raised concerned that they have not been receiving water supply from midday yesterday.

Some residents told Village News that no notice was given by the Public Works Department before the water disruption and no water trucks are carting water to their areas.

Residents say they need water to do their household chores and prepare food for their families.
