The process for the setting up of a national panel of Fiji citizens to look at the proposed designs for the new Fiji flag is likely to go ahead without the opposition’s involvement.
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama had written to Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa to nominate two names for the committee.
However Ro Teimumu maintains that they believe the Parliamentary Committee should look at the petition opposing the change of the flag and the proposal to have a referendum on whether the flag should be changed.
Ro Teimumu said they will not change their mind regarding this issue.
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has already said that the process will go ahead.
However he is disappointed that the opposition will not submit the names for the national panel
