Promising start for Fiji U17 in OFC playoff
Fiji U17 started off their Group A match of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Oceania Qualifiers for the 2011 Mexico bids on a high note thrashing American Samoa 9-0 in.

The side ran in nine goals thanks to two from Narend Rao and Akram Hussein while Iosefo Verevou, Altaaf Sahib, Vineel Naidu, Shane Kumar ran in a goal each.

The national side is in an attempt to make it into the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in Mexico.

In the other Grop A match, Vanuatu beat PNG, 2-0 while in Group B the matches will be played today where New Caledonia will meet Solomon Islands while Tonga clash with Tahiti.
