Principal pleads not guilty to indecent assault
A 48 year old Secondary School Principal charged with seven counts of indecent assault and annoying females pleaded not guilty in the Labasa Magistrate Court this afternoon.

His lawyer Ami Kohli made an application for bail which was granted by the Labasa Magistrate.

The Principal has been released on $800 bail and warned not to interfere with the witnesses, has been ordered to report to the Labasa Police Station on Mondays and Fridays and to surrender all his travelling documents.

The case has been adjourned to 10th December.

According to Police, the matter was reported to them on Friday and a team of Police Officers went to the school and interviewed the students who are the alleged victims in the case.

The teacher was taken into custody on Saturday.

The Education Ministry is yet to comment on the charges the Principal is facing and the status of his employment.
