A former teacher from a prominent Tailevu school has been sentenced to 14 years and 6 months imprisonment after being found guilty of 5 counts of rape and 1 count of sexual assault.
He was sentenced to 1 year 9 months for 1 count of sexual assault, and 12 years 9 months for 5 counts of rape, which he will serve concurrently.
Justice Usaia Ratuvili handed down the sentence, and the former teacher has been given a non parole period of 11 years and 9 months.
The offences were committed at the man's home between 2023 and 2024.
The male victims were aged 15 and 17 years.
The man has been given 30 days to appeal.
