The Interim Attorney General has today blamed the previous governments for the current poor state of prisons around Fiji.
Speaking at the pass out parade for prison officers in Naboro today, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum stressed that because of negligence to improve prison standards, there has been a negative impact on reducing the number of repeat offenders.
Sayed-Khaiyum however said that the current government has initiated plans to improve the prison system.
Meanwhile, 71 officers today took part in a pass out parade in Naboro of which 28 are relieving officers and 43 recruits.
