Preparations are now underway at the chiefly village of Cuvu in Nadroga after the passing away of their paramount chief the late Turaga Na Ka Levu Ratu Sakiusa Makutu.
Speaking on behalf of the vanua of Nakuruvarua, Ratu Tevita Volavola says the traditional message of Ratu Sakiusa Makutu's passing away has been sent to their close cousin and the head of the Burebasaga confederacy, the Marama Roko Tui Dreketi Ro Teimumu Kepa and other traditional links around the country.
He said the reguregu will start next Monday and the funeral will be held next Thursday.
He said 66 year old Ratu Sakiusa died on Sunday after a short illness and his body is kept at the Sigatoka hospital.
He is survived by his wife Torika, 5 children and 6 grandchildren.
