Police have uprooted more than 800 plants believed to be marijuana from four different farms in Naqaravutu Village, Tunuloa, Cakaudrove after it was detected through drones.

Chief Operations Officer, ACP Abdul Khan confirms the raid was conducted by the Drugs Team that resulted in the arrests of a 28-year-old and a 19-year-old man from their alleged farms where both were allegedly found smoking dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Police also discovered an apparatus with more than 20 branches placed beside them at the time of the arrests.

The two were questioned and released awaiting the test results on the plants.

Khan says one of the suspects led the team to his farm where more than 200 green plants believed to be marijuana were uprooted ranging from 26 centimetres to 2 metres.

He adds another farm that was raided had more than 100 green plants ranging from 1.4 to 2.8 meters.

Khan says 400 plants ranging from 5cm to 20cm were also uprooted by the team from another farm beside the village where the owner is unknown.

Police is also searching the owner of another farm where 18 plants were pulled up by the team.
