Four people, including two juveniles, are in custody after they were allegedly found with illicit drugs believed to be marijuana in Naweni, Cakaudrove.
Police say the arrests were made during a snap checkpoint along the Hibiscus Highway yesterday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Kasiano Vusonilawe, says while the Northern Division Operations Team is focused on tackling both the cultivation and unlawful possession of illicit drugs, snap checkpoints also lead to arrests for other offences, including criminal intimidation and assault.

He says the team also conducts community and school visits as part of a holistic approach to tackling the illicit drug trade.
Police investigations into the alleged unlawful possession of illicit drugs continue.
