Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed that the investigation file into the death of Richard Mock has been submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He made these comments after allegations that police failed to act against those involved in this case.
Tudravu says they have submitted the investigation file to the Office of the Director of Prosecutions in May this year and they are waiting for the independent legal advice.
He says they are committed to being transparent and ensuring that officers are held accountable for their actions.
He says the testament to this has been the charging of officers for alleged breaches of the law in recent weeks.
Tudravu adds he wants to reassure the public that they are determined to win back the public trust and confidence through professional, trusted and reliable service delivery.
Mock was alleged to have died in police custody in February this year and a group of officers at Namaka Police station are also alleged to have dumped his body in Nasau, Nadi after realising he was dead.
