The Westfield Barbarians is expected to present their reguregu for the late wife of their team member and Vodafone Fiji 7s rep Pio Tuwai tonight.

Head coach Epeli Lagiloa confirmed that Tuwai’s wife Irinieta Sadria passed away last night at the Lautoka Hospital.

Sadria who worked as a nurse married Tuwai in 2009.

Lagiloa added that the Westfield Babas rugby club bought a house for Tuwai’s family near the Lautoka hospital as his wife was sick for some time

Lagiloa spoke highly about Tuwai’s patriotism when he made the decision to leave behind his seriously ill bedridden wife and lead the Fiji 7s side to victory in the Japan 7s earlier this year.

Lagiloa said Tuwai was out of the 7s scene for a couple of years but was persuaded by his late wife to train hard which resulted in him earning a spot back in the Vodafone Fiji 7s team.

Irinieta Sadria is survived by her husband Pio Tuwai and two children.
