People still breaching social gathering restrictions to drink grog

Breaching social gathering restrictions to drink grog is still one of the major reasons people are being arrested for breaching health restrictions and curfew orders.

17 people were arrested over the last 24 hours.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says five people from different households were arrested for social gathering and drinking grog at the Muanivatu Settlement in Vatuwaqa while a 26-year-old man was found crossing the Dokanaisuva checkpoint.

A 26-year-old man was found loitering in Caubati during curfew hours.

He says 5 people were arrested for social gathering and drinking grog at Namuka Village in Nakelo.

A 29-year-old driver was arrested for driving without a pass in Gusuisavu in Naitasiri while a 35-year-old man of Kiuva was found intoxicated during curfew hours.

A 15-year-old girl of Vatukalo has been charged for not wearing a mask while travelling in a Public Service Vehicle.

A 45-year-old man was found walking along Vomo Street in Lautoka during curfew hours while a 26-year-old man was found drunk and loitering in Lautoka.
