The people of Lakeba and members of the Vuanirewa clan have today told the Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama that they support his leadership.

The villagers from Lau also made a traditional presentation to Commodore Bainimarama asking for forgiveness.

Selina Navuso reports from Tubou.

Meanwhile Commodore Bainimarama spoke to chiefs and villagers in Tubou, Lakeba in the last hour and told them that he has taken away the Great Council of Chiefs because of dirty politics.

He stressed that he has not undermined the chiefs in the country but there was serious concern about the high ranked chiefs playing dirty politics for their own advantage.

Commodore Bainimarama asked the people in Lakeba to forget all that has happened in the last few days and the government will resolve all the differences.

The Prime Minister will leave for Oneata this afternoon.
