Attorney General Siromi Turaga

The coalition government has revoked the No Jab No Job Regulation which was implemented by the government during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While making the announcement, Attorney General, Siromi Turaga says the regulation is revoked effective immediately.

He also says this means those who lost their jobs when the policy came in can apply for jobs again.

Turaga says they are not looking at compensation for the workers as necessary action had to be taken during the pandemic.

He says after achieving herd immunity, they see no reason to have the regulation.

Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong says the COVID-19 vaccination has helped, Fiji achieved herd immunity, the measures had to be taken during the pandemic and we achieved it with the two doses.

He says with the objectives achieved, they did not have to make the booster doses mandatory.

Meanwhile Turaga also says there is also no prohibition at the places of worship.

He says this allows access to everyone.
