New “Fiji Made” toilet tissue to be released into the market next month is expected to become the cheapest on your favorite supermarket self.
Full production is now underway at South Pacific Waste Recyclers that specializes in converting used paper into toilet tissue.
South Pacific Waste Recyclers, Charan Singh said that unlike other companies they do not import jumbo rolls from overseas nor cut trees down to obtain pulp but instead recycle paper.
He added that they are buying used paper for their recycling operation at a cost of five to fifteen cents a kilo depending on the type of paper they receive.
Inspecting the new recycling factory this afternoon, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said it is a good “Fiji Made” local investor story and with the current zero rate duty on plant or machinery brought into the country for the next year, it should be an incentive for current and future investors.
The new $4.5million recycling factory has also generated 50 new jobs.
