It will be a first for Fiji as we get ready for the arrival of the new A330 Fiji Airways plane into our airspace next Tuesday.
Air Pacific spokesperson Shane Hussein said the most exciting part is when the A330 will fly over cane fields, coastal villages and the main business areas to allow fellow Fijians to celebrate its delivery flight.
The plane has designs based on Fiji’s specifications.
Hussein added that those looking forward to the fly-over must not miss the opportunity to look up and spot the large words “Fiji” written on the plane’s belly.
The stages of the fly over will be over most parts of the Coral Coast over Pacific Harbour and onto Suva City where it will circle the city a few times.
Hussein said the plane will also fly over key parts of Vanua Levu heading to the Northern tip and then onto Lautoka before it will land in Nadi.
Meanwhile the second and third A330's will arrive in May and November respectively.
The A330-200s are the first brand new wide-body aircraft ever purchased by the 60 year old national airline, and they are valued in the Airbus catalogue at a price of 200 million US dollars each.
