Attorney General and Minister for Industry and Trade Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today launched the nationwide Fijian Made Facebook Photo Contest to encourage locals to buy Fijian-made products.

Sayed-Khaiyum said only locals can participate in the contest while people from overseas can support their friends on facebook by voting for their photos through sharing it on their pages.

Permanent Secretary for Industry and Trade Shaheen Ali said since the launch of the campaign, over 151 companies and 766 products have been licensed.

The photo contest will require participants to take a picture of themselves with a product showing the Fijian Made logo and share it on Facebook.

The photo with the most “votes” wins.

The prizes include a Vodafone tablet and $1,000 cash.

One of the sponsors FMF group CEO Ram Bajekal said the competition will be helpful in marketing their products and it will contribute to the growth of the economy as a whole.

The first phase of voting will end on 2nd March where 30 photos with the most votes will move on to the second and final phase of voting.
