Natabua and Jasper Williams lead Lautoka Zone

Natabua High School are currently leading the medal tally in the boys division of the Coca Cola Lautoka Zone with 2 gold and 1 bronze.

Saint Thomas High School are in second place with 2 gold while Central College Lautoka are third with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

Jasper Williams High School lead the girls division with 2 gold and 1 silver while Ba Provincial Freebird Institute are in second place with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.

Meanwhile, Lautoka soccer rep Pratik Goundar of Lautoka Andhra Sangam College won the intermediate boys 1500 metres with a time of 4 minutes and 35.30 seconds.

Niko Ratu of Central College came second while Avinesh Singh of Lautoka Muslim College came third.

Goundar says despite being sick yesterday, he was still determined to win.

Goundar says he is looking forward to the Coca Cola Games this year as he has been qualifying from the zone for the last two years but the Coke Games was unfortunately called off.

Meanwhile Manaini Tikomatailevu of Ba Provincial Freebird Institute set a new record of 5 minutes and 58.52 seconds in the junior girls 1500 metres finals, breaking the old record of 6 minutes and 5.99 seconds of Makereta Vamela of Ba Provincial set in 2020.

Ulamila Vata of Yasawa Secondary School set a new record of 5 minutes and 42.59 seconds in the intermediate girls 1500 metres, breaking the old record of Vani Batakinikini of Ba Provincial set in 2020.
