The Consumer Council of Fiji has partnered with The Rotary Club of Suva Peninsula Sunset to form the “Na I Solisoli Initiative” that is aimed at providing relief to those families who need baby and toddlers’ essentials, especially baby milk and baby food.

The driving factor for the setting up of the initiative was the numerous calls for assistance made to the Council by COVID–19 affected families seeking urgent assistance particularly for their infants and toddlers.

The Rotary Club of Suva Peninsula Sunset president Prashant Anurag says today they distributed close to 25 packs.

Anurag says children and babies are more vulnerable than adults in emergency situations such as COVID-19 and tropical cyclone adding this is why they work with Consumer Council of Fiji to identify families and consumers who really need the assistance.

He added the pack is enough to last a month for each recipient and is tailor-made to suit the preference of each recipient.

Consumer Council CEO, Seema Shandil says not every child would experience a disaster in the same way adding we should work together to provide infants and babies with all the love, understanding and support during this trying times.
