The Australia Government has given the green light for the National Rugby League competition to resume on the 28th of May.

ARL Commissioner Wayne Pearce confirmed the NRL teams are set to begin training on May 4th and the competition to resume on the 28th.

Pearce also reiterated that the Telstra Premiership points table would remain as it was when the competition was suspended on the 23rd of March with all points carried over to the resumption of play.

He says what they achieved during their meeting yesterday with Project Apollo innovations committee is a lot more clarity around the medical process and what those protocols are.

He adds that everyone has been supportive of what they are doing and they feel like they owe it not just the players and coaches but the thousands of staff members at various clubs and associated industries that are out on the unemployment lines too.

Pearce says the structure of the competition is yet to be formalised.
