NFP labels parliament question to AG on Household and Income Expenditure Survey as a softball
NFP General Secretary Seni Nabou

A question set to be asked tomorrow in parliament on the Household Income and Expenditure Survey results has been labelled a softball question by the National Federation Party.

Assistant Minister for Health Alexander O’Connor is listed to ask the Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to update parliament on why were the 2019-2020 Household and Income Expenditure Survey results released in August this year flawed.

NFP General Secretary Seni Nabou says the Economy Minister is already Fiji’s “Minister for Everything" and now he wants to be the “Expert on Everything”.

She says the survey was supported by the World Bank. Nabou adds Professor David Gordon of Bristol University worked on it.

She says he is a recognized poverty expert.

Nabou adds they look forward to hearing why Fiji’s best statisticians, the World Bank, three university professors and two more leading Fiji economists are wrong – all from the mouth of a politician.

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum is yet to respond.
