Muaniweni College Principal Sanjelesh Abay Nand has shown his full support to his U18 Weet-Bix Raluve rugby side as they will be the first team from the school to play in the national semi finals.
Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Nand says he offered the team his personal gym equipment to help the girls improve their body strength.
He says what the girls did is a big achievement for them.
He says the players’ efforts have created a positive atmosphere in the school and continue to motivate them to reach the next level.
The Principal says they take each game as a final, and the girls have always given their best in order to win every match.
He is urging parents, guardians, and old scholars to come out in numbers and support the team, as this will boost the girls’ morale on the field.
Muaniweni will meet Jasper Williams High School at 1.30pm at Buckhurst Ground.
In another semi-final, Natabua High School will meet MGM High at 2.20pm at the HFC Bank Stadium.
In the U16 semi finals, Sigatoka Methodist College will face Dreketi Central College at 10.10am at the HFC Bank Stadium, while ACS will meet Ratu Latianara College at 11am at Buckhurst Park.
In the U18 Vodafone Super Deans semi final at the HFC Bank Stadium, Nasinu Secondary will take on Natabua High School at 3.30pm, and Suva Grammar School will take on Ratu Kadavulevu School at 5pm.
