More ATS workers return to work after acknowledging their walkout was illegal

More Air Terminal Services workers have acknowledged their illegal walkout and have returned to work.

This has been confirmed by ATS Acting CEO Hare Mani who says the mediation process between the Air Terminal Services and its locked‑out workers will take place today.

He says it is expected to start from 12pm.

Mani says so far the number of workers that have returned to work has increased to 16.

About 250 workers walked off their jobs on the 16th of this month causing a longstanding dispute that has now lasted for more than 10 days.

In a statement, the company says returning workers have stated that there are others like them who are wishing to return

It further says the offer by ATS Chairman Riyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum to those on strike to return to work with the promise not to victimise any worker through termination, if they acknowledge their illegal walkout is still open.
