Miss Hibiscus Queens visit Parliament

As part of their official engagements, the Queens of the Hibiscus Festival 2025 visited Fiji’s Parliament today to learn about parliamentary processes, symbols, and heritage.

The visit included a guided walk-through of how Parliament operates, explanations of roles such as questions, debates and committee work, and emphasis on the significance of the mace, which symbolizes the authority of Parliament and must be present for sittings.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Miss Unique Rubber Stamp, Temalesi Tuiwalese says the experience was very enlightening, noting that the tour gave the Queens deeper insight into how citizens can attend and observe Parliament in action.

She also shares her aspiration to represent the people of Fiji in Parliament in the future, should the opportunity arise.

The queens were also showcased artifacts, including historical records and ceremonial items, giving the Queens a deeper perspective of Fiji’s legislative heritage.

The event concluded with a walk around the parliamentary chambers and displays.
