Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head Coach Mick Byrne believes his work with past teams will lift the Fijian Drua side to another level.

He says he brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm into the game but his main aim is to keep that enthusiasm in players for them to move forward.

Byrne has been the assistant and skills coach for the Wallabies, All Blacks, Japan and Scotland over a 23-year rugby union coaching career.

The Australian also brings with him Super Rugby experience as the assistant coach of the Blues from 2012 to 2014.

The Drua will be playing their second trial match against the Melbourne Rebels tomorrow.

Their first match of the Super Rugby Pacific season is against the Waratahs at 8.45pm next Friday.
