A man in his 20s will be produced in the Suva Magistrates Court today charged with allegedly raping a woman in her late 70s before stealing assorted items last month.
Police say the man is alleged to have forcefully entered the woman’s home on the night of the 30th of July, and committed the offence before stealing a mobile phone and cash.
He has been charged with three counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, one count of burglary, one count of theft, one count of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault.
Police say the mobile phone was recovered in a neighbour's compound.
