It would be wise to text the voter ID number to 1500 to get your exact polling station

Registered voters are advised to ensure that they text their voter ID number to 1500 to confirm the polling station they are listed to vote and it will also give you the contact for free public transport in your area.

fijivillage has received some calls on voters unsure where to vote as they have the green voter card.

The Fijian Elections Office has stated that you can still vote as long as you are a registered voter.

You can also go with a valid ID and checks will be conducted at the polling station.

To avoid the hassle, it would be wise to text the voter ID number to 1500 to get your exact polling station.

You can still vote if you have lost your voter ID card but you have to turn up at the right polling station.

Please also note you can only vote at your allocated polling station and cannot just vote at any station.

Family members are also urged to check their individual listed polling station as there are cases where people within the same household can be allocated to different polling stations. It does not necessarily mean that if you are from the same household then you will vote at the same polling station.

There are 693,915 registered voters in the 2022 general elections.

Out of this, 77,907 people were registered for pre-poll from last Monday to Friday, and postal vote applications approved are 9,916.

That means around 606,092 people are listed to vote at allocated polling stations today.

Postal ballots have to be dropped off at the Fijian Elections Office by 6pm today.

All voters are encouraged to come out and vote.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem calls on everyone to make their vote count.

Voting will take place from 7.30am to 6pm today. Anyone who arrives at the polling station after 6pm will not be allowed to vote.
