Communications Fiji Limited, the parent company of LegendFM, FM96, Navtarang, Radio Sargam, VitiFM and fijivillage wishes everyone a Happy World Radio Day.

According to UNESCO, radio continues to be one of the most trusted and used media in the world, according to different international reports.

The theme for this year's World Radio Day is devoted to "Radio and Trust".

UNESCO says radio is a powerful medium for celebrating humanity in all its diversity and constitutes a platform for democratic discourse.

It says at the global level, radio remains the most widely consumed medium.

UNESCO further says this unique ability to reach out to the widest audience means radio can shape a society’s experience of diversity, stand as an arena for all voices to speak out, be represented and heard.

It also states that radio stations should serve diverse communities, offering a wide variety of programs, viewpoints and content, and reflect the diversity of audiences in their organizations and operations.

CFL General Manager, Charles Taylor says radio remains the most personal form of media and the most widely used.

Taylor also says our listeners look to us for entertainment and information in good times and in times of crisis and we take this responsibility very seriously.

We are here for you and will continue to be here for you everyday.
