Good news as fuel and gas prices will go down from today.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications, the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has determined that the new regulated price for unleaded fuel is dropping by 12 cents to $2.80 per litre while diesel will now cost $2.50.

Kerosene has been reduced to $1.96 with premix now costing $2.62.

A 4.5kg cylinder of gas is now $15.58, the 12kg cylinder has decreased by 5 cents and is now $41.55.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica says they are pleased to note that the prices of fuel and LPG for the month of February are reducing further.

Kamikamica says this reflects their commitment to minimise the financial burden and provide relief to all Fijian families.

He says the Ministry will continue to work closely with FCCC to monitor international movements for fuel prices hoping to provide more financial relief to consumers.
