A former tailor of Wailoku who pleaded guilty to eight counts of obtaining money through financial advantage by deception has been sentenced to 8 months imprisonment.
32-year-old Koto Tikotani took a total of $750 dollars from four tertiary students where he promised them he will sew and provide them with their graduation gowns.
The offence happened between the 1st to the 25th of October, last year before the graduation.
Tikotani said he was sorry and asked for some time to pay back the money starting this Friday.
However Magistrate Chaitanya Latchman told Tikotani that this type of offence is on the rise and it must stop.
