Fijians will able to benefit from the short-stay visa waiver agreement by the European Union.
EU Ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific Andrew Jacobs said this will also apply to Papua New Guinea as well.
Jacobs said that their headquarters in Brussels are working on this issue and as this will take years to come into effect.
The short-stay visa waiver means that Fijians will be able to visit the European Union visa free.
Jacobs said that the short stay-visa only includes the Schengen areas and excludes the United Kingdom and Ireland.
EU recently signed the short-stay visa waiver agreement with Samoa, Tonga and Palau.
The visa only allows 90 days travel and vice-versa for people living in European countries to visit Fiji.
