It will be top of the table clash in the Oceania 7s this afternoon when the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team takes on fierce rivals New Zealand after more than a year.

Both sides won their opening matches yesterday and are currently joint leaders on the standings.

Fiji last played New Zealand in the quarterfinal of the Vancouver 7s in March last year where they were beaten 17-5.

The national side made a relatively slow start to the tournament yesterday and managed to beat Australia 26-14 before comfortably beating the Oceania 7s team 32-12.

Fiji will face New Zealand at 4.22pm today and then play Australia at 9.30 tonight.

They will take on the Oceania 7s team at 2.30pm tomorrow and New Zealand at 8.07pm.

There are six rounds of matches in the Oceania 7s where each team will play each other twice.

The highest-ranked team after six matches will be declared the winner.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team has been beaten 33-14 by New Zealand in their second match in the Oceania 7s.

They were earlier beaten 31-17 by Australia.

Fijiana will now play the Oceania 7s team at 4.44pm today and Australia at 10.36 tonight.

Fijiana will then play New Zealand at 3.14pm tomorrow and then play the Oceania 7s team at 8.33pm.
