Fiji can attract more Australian Tourists
Adrian Weeks speaking at the Fiji Australia Business Council Forum

The Austrade Commissioner Pacific based in Brisbane said Fiji has good airline connections to Australia and has a great opportunity to attract more Australian tourists.

While speaking during the Fiji Australia Business Council Forum, Adrian Weeks said there are about six and a half million visitors to Australia every year, and Fiji can attract some of these visitors to come here.

He said the tourism sector needs to be nourished as it brings first class resorts, building construction, ongoing maintenance, education, training and employment.

Weeks also said that Australia is a great contributor to Fiji’s tourism industry as fifty percent or more visitors are from Australia.

Weeks added that Australia will continue to be one of Fiji’s major trading partners.

He said about 2,600 companies export to Fiji where 30,000 transactions take place every year.
