FRU announces $3.8 million sponsorship from Fiji Water ahead of the Rugby World Cup

The Fiji Rugby Union today announced a major $3.8 million sponsorship towards the Flying Fijians from the world’s renowned water manufacturer, Fiji Water ahead of their preparations for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in France.

While officiating at the sponsorship announcement at the Tanoa Plaza in Suva today, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says this is a historic day for Fiji Rugby and the agreement with Fiji Water will help ensure the Flying Fijians are in the strongest position to compete at the RWC.

He says this deal builds on previous support Fiji Water has provided for the Flying Fijians when it was a supporting sponsor of the team in 2020 during the Autumn Nations Cup.

Rabuka says for the past three years, the FRU and Flying Fijians have been supported through the Fiji Sports Commission and government funding.

Fiji Rugby Union’s Acting CEO Sale Sorovaki says they are grateful to Fiji Water for this sponsorship and for being one of their most loyal and important partners for many years.

He says today they have further strengthened their relationship with them and this significant support will put the Flying Fijians in an even better position to win in France.

Fiji Water Executive Vice President Craig Cooper says Fiji Water takes great pride in their association with the Flying Fijians, and they are excited to expand their support for the team as they compete for this year’s World Cup.

Cooper says they look forward to celebrating together a strong performance at the World Cup.

The Flying Fijians will now be called the Fiji Water Flying Fijians and the Fiji Water logo will appear on the Flying Fijians kit and jersey during the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup and also in the two test matches against France and England.
