Navy Blue has won the 2020 Digicel Escott Shield after beating Police Blue 24-17 at Albert Park this evening.

MATCH REPORT

FIRST HALF

KICK OFF - The Digicel Escott Shield final between Navy Blue and Police Blue is underway at Albert Park.

FIRST POINTS - A Police Blue penalty kick is successful. Police Blue take the early 3-nil lead over Navy White.

FIRST TRY - 7th minute. Navy Blue openside flanker Meli Derenalagi crosses over for the first try. His try was the result of good build-up play by the Navy Blue forwards. The conversion by Navy Blue flyhalf Jone Manu is successful. Navy Blue lead Police Blue 7-3.

PENALTY KICK - The penalty kick by Police Blue is successful. They close the gap. Navy Blue still leads Police Blue 7-6.

POINTS FOR NAVY BLUE - Navy Blue flyhalf Jone Manu kicks a successful penalty to extend their lead. Navy Blue lead Police Blue 10-6.

TAMANI CONVERTS - Another penalty kick by Police Blue halfback Terio Tamani goes through. Navy Blue leads Police Blue 10-9.

YELLOW CARD - Navy Blue prop Mateo Qolisese is sent out for a dangerous tackle. Navy Blue leads Police Blue 10-9.

HALF TIME - It is an equal contest so far from both sides. Navy Blue and Police Blue are continuing to take advantage of opportunities to put points on the board. It is also shaping up to be a contest between goal kickers Terio Tamani of Police Blue and Jone Manu of Navy Blue. Navy Blue leads Police Blue 10-9 at half-time.

SECOND HALF

PENALTY TRY - Navy Blue get a penalty try after continuous infringements by Police Blue in the scrum near the try line. Navy Blue extend their lead to 17-9.

ANOTHER GOOD KICK - Terio Tamani slots over another penalty kick for Police Blue but Navy Blue still leads 17-12.

TRY TIME - 25th minute. Conversion by Jone Manu is good. Navy Blue still leads 24-12.

RED CARD -77th minute. Navy Blue wing Vereniki Tabuyalewa is sent off for a dangerous tackle. A scuffle broke out after that high tackle. Navy Blue still leads 24-12.

TRY - Police Blue cross over for a try at fulltime but it doesn't change the outcome. They still lose.

FINAL SCORE - Navy Blue win 24-17.
