Breaking the barriers and paving the way forward for people with disabilities is applicable mainly to loving parents who stand tall in breaking barriers and paving the way for their children.

This was the statement made by Assistant Director Child Services Unit Ela Tukutukulevu while officiating at the Hilton Special School Prize Giving today.

Tukutukulevu says that any School Prize Giving is one that every parent and child look forward to every year adding that this is an exciting day in the life of a child, because it means, this is the end of the school year and they look forward to celebrating their achievements with their families.

Tukutukulevu also highlighted that the month of November, the Ministry of Women and Children is celebrating the lives of children who have been faced with violence in their families, in schools, and in the communities they live in.

She has also challenged parents to show love and respect one more time to their children regardless of their abilities or disabilities and to be more proactive in their role of ensuring that the children are supervised at all times and that they are supervised by trusted and responsible adult family members.

She has also acknowledged the tremendous work the teachers play in the lives of special needs children.

A total of 80 students were part of the Hilton Special School Prize Giving ceremony.
