Great news for Fijians living in the United States of America as the e-passport service at the Fijian Embassy in Washington DC is now operational.

E-Passport services are being rolled out to a number of Fiji’s overseas missions and this means that the moment Fijians living abroad do an enrollment in any part of the world where missions are and the systems are, the Immigration Department sees it on screen here in Fiji and the passport can be done in the next hour.

E-Passport services are also available in Britain, New Zealand and Australia.

The Permanent Secretary for Immigration, Yogesh Karan had earlier stated that the launch at Abu Dhabi, Brussels and Tokyo Centres will be done soon.

Karan also says that the backlogs for printing is almost over but they have backlogs for people that need to come for their bio-metrics but they are not coming forward despite constant reminders.
