Pacific Fishing Company Pte Limited (PAFCO) has joined the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua sponsorship vuvale and also launched the Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament that will be held next month at Prince Charles Park.

The Drua say PAFCO joins the Drua family of sponsors with its iconic “Sun Bell” brand, the tuna which has been a staple in Fijian homes for 50 years.

The Drua plans to make the Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament an annual tournament featuring two Drua Men’s teams and six provincial teams.

Drua CEO, Mark Evans says it is wonderful for them to welcome an organisation like PAFCO to their family of sponsors.

He says PAFCO is a crucial member of the community, particularly in Ovalau and they are already looking forward to a visit to the island to engage further with their fans in Lomaiviti and lend their support to the good work PAFCO is already in the community.

Speaking on the partnership, PAFCO CEO Saiyad Raiyum says they are proud to be associated with the Fijian Drua and support their team in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.

Raiyum says PAFCO is part of the Fiji’s heritage and one of the country’s longest running companies, and with a brand (Sun Bell) that has been around for 50 years, we are ecstatic to become a nutritional partner for the Drua teams.

The 8-team competition pits provincial teams from the Western Division against two teams made up of Fijian Drua players.

The eight teams have been divided up into two pools of four, with each pool consisting of a Drua team and three provincial teams.

Matches will be played in 10-minute halves featuring ten players in each team.

The Sun Bell Drua 10s is free for patrons to attend, and will be held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on the 13th of December.
