Disability is not a barrier: Buli
A 48 year old disabled woman from Vutia Village in Rewa was delighted after winning the second price in the evening wear category of the Courts Rural Women Designers Award last night.

Lusiana Buli who is from the Rewa Disabled Peoples Association stole the show at the Holiday Inn after displaying great standard of garment.

Buli was on crutches as she has problems in walking.

The Founder and Organizer of Fiji Rural Women Fashion show, Jojo Whippy said when Buli walked up, every one stood up and nearly cried looking at her efforts.

Whippy said Buli has taken Rural Women Fashion Show to another level.

She won about $250 and also received orders from people who were present at the awards night.

Buli said she faced no difficulty in sewing her garment except for buying the material.

Meanwhile, Magrette Lakhan from Savusavu was crowned the Courts designer for evening wear and she also has won a weekend for two at the Peal Resort with cash prizes.
