The defending McDonald’s Coral Coast champions Army has lost 14-12 to Fiji Barbarians in the quarter finals yesterday.

The Fiji Barbarians had to redeem themselves after losing to Nadi-based Saunaka in the last pool game.

Veteran Joshua Vakurunabili was formidable in defense and denied the army contingent a chance to retain the trophy they won last year.

In the semi finals today, Fiji Barbarian will play New Zealand Development at 1.30pm while Vatemo Ravovou-led McDonand’s Saunaka side will take on Fire at 1.10pm.

In the women's semi final today, Mount Masada will face Fresh’et Navy at 12.10pm and shadow New Zealand side, Matakesi take on Ezers at 11.50am.
