Damodar City Labasa Project to begin in a month’s time

The construction of the first phase of the Damodar City Labasa Project will begin in a month’s time.

The first phase will have the supermarket wing including 24 retail shops and 2 food and beverage outlets that will have a value of $15 million.

The phase 2 of the project will have a cinema wing with 3 cinemas. It will also have a large food court, 2 department stores and an additional 18 retail stores.

Phase 3 will have the hotel wing which will have around 40 rooms, a large multi-functional convention centre, restaurants, an executive bar and lounge facility.

Damodar Group of Companies CEO, Div Damodar says the total investment cost will be over $40 million.

4R Construction Limited has been signed as the main contractor for Phase 1 development.      

Damodar says that during phase one there will be around 50 people employed and as the phases progress they are looking at about 150 people being employed.

He has also thanked Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama who had encouraged them to invest in the North.
