Contracting the H1N1 flu, while leaving you physically drained, can also make you financially strained as the cost of Tamiflu, used to tackle the virus is quite high, if bought from pharmacies.

Fijivillage News found out that pharmacies around the country sell Tamiflu ranging from $90.00 to $105.00.

Chemists also confirmed that this price depends on the prescription and how much each person has been ordered to take by the doctor.

Acting Director Public Health, Dr Josaia Samuela earlier said Tamiflu will be free under the Public Health System meaning it is free at general hospitals however adding that one has to pay for the Tamiflu if they visit a private doctor and he or she gets a prescription to get Tamiflu from a pharmacy.

Samuela said prices may vary from the pharmacies as it depends on where they buy their stock from.
