This coalition government has got the important task of realigning the economy after 16 years of leadership of the FijiFirst Government, and it's not the time to sit and dance for too long.

The Assistant Minister for Finance, Esrom Immanuel highlighted this during his opening speech in Parliament and said that based on the era of uncertainty and dramatic changes in the world affecting world trade and prices, there is a need to build unity through social cohesion among all Fijians.

Immanuel says Fijians should work together towards the common goal of improving the lives of all its citizens.

He says we must proceed at a certain pace that will help our economy grow for the betterment of our future and our resources.

He adds that looking at what has been provided by the elders of Fiji, the leaders should work together to bring prosperity to our future.

The Assistant Minister for Finance says there may be differences, but we choose to forgive and forget and focus on our similarities as Fijian citizens.
