Two goals in three minutes midway through the second half helped Ba Women defeat Henderson Eels 2-0 to kick off their OFC Women’s Champions League campaign in style in Tahiti.

Winger Koleta Likuculacula and Asenaca Naio scored a goal each in the 65th and 68th minutes, respectively.

Likuculacula says she is happy with how the team communicated during the game, especially with the younger players.

She says for some of the younger players, this was their first match overseas, and they were nervous, so they had to communicate with them and share knowledge.

Goalkeeper Mereseini Waqali claimed Player of the Match.

Ba will need at least one point to top their group and qualify for the semi final when they take on Cook Islands team Tupapa Maraerenga on Sunday at 1pm.
