The true quality of leadership that many talk about when it comes to New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern was evident during her visit to Fiji and she also sent a message to the people apologizing for the closure of the roads this week.

Ardern got off the high podium when she went to Tamavua-i-Wai Settlement, took off her shoes and sat with the women from the settlement on the floor. She said she did not want to feel like a Queen sitting on the podium and wanted to sit with the people.

The NZ Prime Minister also served tea to women coming from the outer islands and other areas who attended the official opening of the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre in Nadi. Although the women were hesitant at first, Ardern served them tea saying she does that at home.

Ardern also apologized to the people for the inconvenience, saying sorry they keep closing the road and holding people up. She said on Fiji One that at least when she is gone the roads will be open again.

Police say they had closed the road for the quick movement of the motorcade and also for security reasons.
