Air Fiji Flights Grounded
All Air Fiji Limited flights have been grounded pending the outcome of a case filed in the High Court by the airline company against fuel suppliers BP South West Pacific Limited.

Lawyer representing Air Fiji Devinesh Sharma has confirmed to Fijivillage that the airline has taken BP Oil to court after it had instructed the Joint User Hydrant Installation (JUHI) to instruct Mobil Oil Fiji Limited to stop supplying fuel to the company.

Sharma confirmed that Air Fiji was served with a huge bill from BP Oil which the company disputed and refused to pay and then arranged with Mobil to supply fuel.

However, JUHI then instructed Mobil that another company cannot step in to supply fuel when there is outstanding money owed by the airline.

Sharma said the documents have been filed however there is no date or time set for the High Court to hear the case.

It is understood that BP Oil sent a bill amounting to $750,000 to Air Fiji which has been disputed.

Air Fiji is seeking a ruling by the High Court that the Joint User Hydrant Installation cannot give such a directive to Mobile Oil to stop fuel supply.
