60 new jobs are expected to be created when McDonald’s Nakasi opens in February next year.

McDonald’s Fiji Managing Director Marc McElrath says the outlet was expected to open this month but will now open next year due to delays in acquiring Energy Fiji Limited transformer.

He says the transformer is taking 7 months to acquire.

McElrath further says this is a $7 million investment.

This will be the fifth McDonald’s restaurant in Fiji, bringing total restaurant investments for Vuvale Restaurants to over $40 million.

McDonald’s Fiji is working on another 3 outlets around Fiji in the next 2 years.
