48 new Public Rental Board housing units opened in Naqere, Savusavu

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama opened 48 new Public Rental Board housing units in Naqere, Savusavu.

The project was fully funded by the government at a total cost of  $3.6million which includes 32 one bedroom units and 16 two bedroom units.

Those who earn $16,500 per annum and below are eligible to apply for the PRB flats.

The government has also subsidised the market price to $50 per week from its market value of $76 per week.

PRB says those who cannot be able to pay the weekly rent are also provided other subsidies where they can pay 50 percent of the weekly rent.

The government allocated a total of $1.3 million as subsidies to assist those who earn below $16,500.
