A 3-year-old boy of Burelevu Village, Saivou, in Ra has drowned in Wainibuka River.

Police say it is alleged that the victim snuck out from his home to go swimming in the river.

The family had alerted villagers after they discovered the boy missing.

They say a search party was formed and they located his body, which was then conveyed to Waimaro Health Centre by relatives.
