Three settlements from Tailevu now have electricity for the first time after the commissioning of the Rural Electrification Projects in Navuca, Nakorouto and Sauva by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Village Headman of Naivicula in Tailevu, Simione Vasuva says the elders of the respective villages are very fortunate to have come across a government that provided them with what they have dreamt of for generations.

This Rural Electrification initiative will benefit more than 250 villagers of Navuca and Nakorouto and 27 household of Sauva settlement.

Bainimarama says this is part of teamwork to ensure that the 8 years of economic growth is shared by everyone in the country.

He says $42.6 million has been allocated to electrify homes in rural areas around Fiji this year.

The Prime Minister says this is a huge step of development from government as they work towards a bright future for all.
